Lisa's Thoughts for the Month of May

To me, the month of May is at the heart of the beginning of summer. This means soon clothes will be smaller…skimpier…more revealing. Where are you in your weight loss efforts? Are you in line with your New Year’s Eve resolution only 5 measly months ago? It is not too late to get back into the game of releasing your weight. It is possible to trim and strengthen your body with the right attitude, "clean" eating, cardio exercise and weight training, also known as resistance.

I do believe now is the time to implement a change in you. Spring is still here. Grass is getting greener. Flowers are hinting to bloom. The days are getting longer. Soon summer will be upon us. Your attitude and the way you think is where all your success begins. If you "think" that you cannot be thinner and leaner with excellent muscle tone, then you can’t. But if you believe in your mind that you can…you will. The thought process is the first step to honest results. The investment in becoming your optimal best can be easy, automatic and natural, if you believe it. Hypnosis is a wonderful first step tool in enhancing this thought process! What are you waiting for? Let the unconscious part of the mind absorb fresh, new, positive thoughts only to enhance your belief in becoming thin, strong and healthier. What you are thinking can turn from frustration into fruition. Plant the seed of positive thinking to assist you in your "natural" eating and moving your body Power Thoughts!

Once the unconscious mind is thinking positive and ready for change, it will make making excellent food choices a reality. In today’s world much of the food is high fat and non- nutritional…but with a few adjustments and knowledge of which foods work together, you can see and feel magnificent results. If you are moody, irritable, craving sweets and junk food, you are most likely highly sensitive to sugar and white flour. By choosing foods that are "real" and "balanced" Weight Loss By The Sea! you can actually quiet that voice in your head telling you to eat out of control. Also eating smaller, balanced meals more frequently will charge up your metabolism and burn calories more efficiently leaving you highly energized.

In addition to your change of attitude and making wise food choices, comes the cardio exercise, otherwise known as aerobic exercise or high-intensity training. The idea is to rev up the heart and burn fat more effectively. Moving your body at a brisk pace speeds up your metabolism and keeps it revved up for some time after your workout. May is the perfect month to take the time to do a brisk walk outside…or bike through the park…skate with your kids…or swim in the pool. If you are more of an inside person than an outside person, then break a sweat with your stationary bike, treadmill or dance to the oldies. It does not matter whether you do your exercise inside or outside, the idea is to just move and burn those calories! Keep the excitement alive by varying your exercise each day Moving Through The Storm! Remember one day, it is a high-intensity day and the next is to strengthen your body, which is part two of your exercise plan.

Part two of your exercise should be a workout with your muscles. Often a person either works their muscles or does the cardio workout…but the trick is to combine the two in the course of your week. One day you lift weights and the next you work on your muscles. In other words, in total, you will be lifting weights (or working in resistance) 3 times a week and cardio 3 times a week. This makes for a perfect marriage of the two! When you strengthen your muscles you will see unbelievable results. The first few million times in my life when I lost all my weight, it was through diet and cardio exercise. The shape that I was not too crazy about at over 210 pounds was the same shape at 138…but a smaller version. By this last and final time of releasing my weight (over a decade ago) I began to wise up and work strength training in. The difference is unbelievable! By combining both forms of exercise you will get awesome results in a shorter amount of time.

So there you have it…if you want to start your month of May with a bang…change your way of thinking. Believe you will release your weight and you will. Your mind is like a sponge, and is eager to absorb healthy information. Also, look at your intake of food. Be sure it is a healthy "real" choice of food and that you are eating enough, the meals are balanced, and you are eating frequently. Added to your thoughts and balanced eating be sure you are working your heart…and burning through those calories. Lastly, make sure you are paying attention to your muscle tone. There is no reason for your body to lose gravity. You can point north again and be totally energized with a clear and positive mind!
